Curtis Heiserman, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012.
He was born Feb. 1, 1948, in Amery Wis., the second child of Charlotte and Francis Heiserman. After graduating from high school in Fergus Falls, he attended St. Olaf College as a National Merit Scholar, receiving his BA degree in 1970.
Curtis loved reading, gardening, golf, and his family. Golf was Curtis’ major avocation. He followed golf tournaments on television and played many courses around the Midwest, often with his brothers Paul and Phil, or son, Zach. He was particularly delighted by his opportunity to play several of the historic” ”links” courses in Scotland. And on the home course he established a family tradition by holding a Father’s Day croquet tournament for 25 years. A life-long reader, his interests included history, politics, philosophy and science which he enjoyed discussing with everyone.
Curtis retired in 2011, from his career as a professional waiter at many prominent metro area restaurants which concluded with 20 years at Manny’s Steakhouse.
Curtis is survived by his former wife and beloved friend, Lanore (Robbinsdale); his sons, Seth (Woodbury) and Zachary (Circle Pines); a daughter-in-law, Melissa, and grandchildren Laci, Alexa and Brayden; siblings, Owen (Marshalltown, Iowa), Cynthia and Heidi (Minneapolis), Judy (Omaha, Neb.), and Philip (Erhard); and nephews, nieces and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Paul.
A gathering of family and friends will be scheduled in the future
