Obituary for Michael Duane Hendrickson

Michael Duane Hendrickson, 70, a resident of Pelican Rapids, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

He was born on May 23, 1948, to Donald E. and Exilona J. (Anderson) in Minneapolis, MN. Michael graduated from high school in Fergus Falls in 1966.

In 1967, Michael was drafted into the United States Army, and served in Vietnam. Michael worked for 30 years at the West Central Turkey Plant in Pelican Rapids.

Michael enjoyed fishing, reading, watching sports, and talking to people. Over the 18 years Michael was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous at the Pelican Rapids Library, he never missed a Sunday meeting.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents; parents, Donald and Exilona Hendrickson; and sister-in-law, Lorna Hendrickson.

Survivors include his siblings, Gary (June) Hendrickson of Moorhead, Steve (Deb Bontjes) Hendrickson of Dalton, Keith (Diane) Hendrickson of Fergus Falls, Judy (Les) Meis of Fergus Falls, Jill (Mark) Nyhus of Detroit Lakes; as well as eight nieces and nephews.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home

Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, at Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls

Clergy: Pastor Jeff McCracken

Military Participation: Fergus Falls V. F.W. Post 612 and American Legion Post 30

Interment: Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls, MN
