David Piekarski, age 61, of Fergus Falls died on Monday, July 26, 2010, at his residence.

David Louis Piekarski was born on September 29, 1948 in Little Falls, MN, the son of Louis and Margaret (Hilmerson) Piekarski. David moved with his family to Fergus Falls, where he graduated from high school in 1966. He then continued his education at MSU, graduating with a degree in Business and Finances. David served in the United States Army Reserve.

David owned D.P. Engineering, a worldwide business focusing most recently on flow technology. He was a tireless inventor and enervator. He partnered in winning countless local, regional and national championships, including a NASCAR Championship. He pioneered modern racing frames for both auto and snowmobiles that are still used today. David loved fishing, motorcycle riding, farming and socializing with his close friends. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Fergus Falls.

He is survived by his daughter, Kari and his son, Jason both Edina, MN; three brothers, Robert Piekarski of Fergus Falls, Danny (Sue) Piekarski of Fergus Falls, Michael (Tamie) Piekarski of Fergus Falls; sisters Kathy Hudson of Wahpeton, ND, Jane (Perry) Haggen of Mesa, AZ and Patricia (CW) Letich of Fergus Falls.

He is preceded in death by his mother Margaret who died February 20, 1998; his father Louis who died May 22, 2003.

All memorials preferred to David's children.
