Susan C Rockwood (Veazie)

Susan Carol (Rockwood) Veazie

Susan (Sue/Susie) Veazie of Excelsior passed away October 13, 2023, at the age of 75, surrounded by family. Born December 29, 1947, Sue was the second of six children to Dr. Philo and Carol Rockwood of Fergus Falls, MN. She is survived by Gary, her loving husband of more than 57 years, her children Chris, Adam, and Sarah, nine grandchildren, younger sisters Patty and Carrie, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, older sister Mary, and younger brothers Harvey and Johnny.

Sue lived a joyous life, cherishing and uplifting everyone she met and shared time with, especially her family and many friends. She was an enthusiastic member of Trinity Episcopal Church for over forty years, led the women’s service organization Ready for Success for many years, and was active with Refugee Services, supporting refugee families that resettled in the Twin Cities.

Though she never complained, Sue suffered through debilitating rheumatoid arthritis her entire adult life, but always found ways to overcome and enjoy what she loved: Wordle & Words with Friends, Tuesday Happy Hour, reading and spending time with her beloved family and endless circle of friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM, Saturday, October 28th at Trinity Episcopal Church in Excelsior (322 2nd St.), with light refreshments served after the service. Visitation for all will be 1-2PM. The service will be livestreamed from the Trinity Episcopal Church Facebook page. A link may also be requested via email to office@trinityexcelsior.org. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.

Susan was one of the most caring decent people I ever met.

Let's keep up her tradition of caring. Seriously.

Hello Gary

My sincere condolences to you and your family.   Both me and Ali became very sad of her passing away.'

I am sorry for writing you this so late, But finally  got my thoughts together and writing you.

I have always though Suzan was very kind and caring person,  I am so glad I was able to meet up with you and her a few yrs ago during one of our reunions.  And your kind acceptance to have dinner with me.

I am sure she is in good hands spending time with her lord.

God bless her soul .

Susan and I were in the band with Al Jacobs at Washington before it burned.  We both played the baritone horn.  She was the most friendly, sweetist person I knew in school.  We visited Sue and Gary once when they lived in Charlotte, NC in the 80s  It was so good to see her and Gary.
