Jeanne Marie Scott, Jeannie departed from us on January 31, 2026. Born in Fergus Falls, MN, on May 29, 1948, to Merle and Emily Scott. Jeanne continued her education at St Cloud State then obtained her masters degree in psychology. She became a licensed psychologist in 1982. She and her husband, Steven Muenzer moved to St Paul in 1990. Jeanne was a great listener and had an innate ability to sense emotion in others, in other words, she was a natural empath. Her bright smile and ability to listen, affirm, and accept everyone where they were allowed her practice to flourish. She became a much loved therapist. Jeanne wanted to emulate her hero, Shirley Zuckman, who died at 107 and counseled to the age of 105. After reading Shirley's obituary, she told anyone who asked that she planned to counsel to 105, and that was not entirely tongue-in-cheek. Kindness was her mantra and her spirit was unbreakable. Jeanne loved to travel and the pinnacle was the round-the-world trip she and Steven took for eight months in 1988-89. They roamed the world like a couple of vagabonds, which is what they were. Throughout her life, she and Steven traveled as often as possible, often for a month at a time. She is survived by Steven, her loving husband of 44-years; her sister, Mary Faridah; sister-in-law, Deborah Muenzer Doy; and nephews and nieces. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Jeanne embodied this fully, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who loved her. A service to honor and celebrate Jeanne's life will be held at Shir Tikvah, 1360 West Minnehaha Parkway, Minneapolis, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11AM. The family will also be observing shiva 7:00 PM at Jeanne and Steven's home, 1891 Fairmount Ave., St Paul. Jeanne's life was a testament to the power of kindness, and her memory will continue to inspire us. In honoring Jeanne's life, we encourage you to leave your memories and upload photos to the memorial page.
